Casio America Appoints New Chairman, CEO

Watch company Casio America has named Tomoo Kato its new chairman and CEO, effective immediately.

Kato has worked for the brand for 32 years, starting in 1991 at Casio Computer Co. in Tokyo. He’s held positions in business development for Casio’s European and North American markets, including managing director of Casio Europe.

In his new role, Kato will shape Casio’s U.S. strategy and operations, with an eye toward enhancing customer satisfaction, accelerating market share growth, and driving technological innovation. He will also align Casio’s U.S. operations with Casio’s worldwide initiatives.

Kato succeeds Makoto Ori, who led Casio America for the past three years and will take a new role within the company.
